It is not always the largest projects that produce the most satisfaction, because happiness lies in making life easier for others. This is one of the hallmarks that has accompanied Decoraciones EGEA since its beginnings.
Big projects are important because they allow you to maintain the company with good results, they give you international projection and because thanks to them, companies like ours have grown to complete our team. Two hundred employees working for Decoraciones EGEA is a source of pride, as is seeing our renovations and our projects flourish all over the world.
But these large hotel renovations, many of them integral, are accompanied by projects such as the one we want to explain today, which have the greatness of being special for what they are and not for what they represent in a profit and loss account.
Projecte Home Balears was born as a Non-Governmental Organization in 1985 in order to help people who have some kind of addiction and need help to get out of it. A few years ago, in 2015, they changed their old headquarters for a much more modern and according to current demands. A multipurpose center that began its journey serving 700 people through rehabilitation programs that has an area of 15,000 square meters.
At Decoraciones EGEA we have always had a special sensitivity for the disadvantaged and we like to allocate part of our efforts to help others. Therefore, from our Corporate Social Responsibility department we promote projects aimed at improving or collaborating with entities that help others in a selfless way. Help that, as we say, is disinterested is of special interest because of what it brings to those who receive it.
For this reason, years ago, we decided to get involved in different small projects for this institution that has already completed five years in the Son Morro industrial estate in Palma. Upholstery, flooring, curtains and maintenance work were our contribution in gratitude to so many volunteers who work daily with Projecte Home to recover the stability of hundreds of people.
And we are very pleased to have done so because our materials, although inert, are to some extent witnesses of many discharges that take place in this center. For this reason, we would like to thank this institution presided by Jesús Mullor. The world is much better with actions such as those carried out in Projecte Home.
During the last few months the institution has asked us to replace a series of curtains in different rooms of the building. Returning to the center always brings us a sense of wellbeing because we know that we are doing more than just installing curtains. We imagine those places, those rooms where we can breathe help, hope, optimism and the desire to move forward. And it comforts us to know that, somehow, Decoraciones EGEA is there.
Because for us all projects have something special and we always try to see that exceptionality in each of our orders. Today it is the curtains of Projecte Home in the Balearic Islands that give meaning to our work and it makes us happy to see the EGEA seal in emblematic spaces like this one, where the overcoming and the great challenges in complicated situations humanize us and remind us that, from moments like the current one we are living, we will also get out and we will recover the life we had before.
